I want to know the meaning of this expression.

No outside influence. 'in and of itself'  also 'that's the way it is'  'intrinsic- itself'.... I think!  I never use the term.

Answers: 14 Views: 1573 Rating: 10 Posted: 6 years ago

Hi ya'll

Yes, full retirement, left beautiful California for the beautiful Cincinnati Ohio area. We bought a beautiful home in OH that we could have never afforded in CA. We have family here.   I get bored at times but I always find a 'todo'

Good to see you all.  I am having trouble with the  app, I'm  using android, maybe its got bugs. I rarely go to laptop or desktop.   You'll probably see lots of spelling errors because i cant type well on a virtual kbd.

Do you think animals have dreams? I do!
Answers: 10 Views: 839 Rating: 8 Posted: 8 years ago

Yes they dream.  just like the others say here, our little ones sometimes run in their sleep.  Dog was on a roll one night, all four of em going. Similarities between man and beast is overwhelmingly same. The have the same organs we do, one mouth, two ears and two eyes that are structured just like ours, their brains are made of the same mass, even looks like a human brain, mammals have similar sex organs and reproduce the same way. so... why not dream??

Today is the last day of.....
Answers: 16 Views: 1965 Rating: 14 Posted: 8 years ago

Been a month and a half now.  Really enjoying the thought of retiring but my work load has increased 500% with getting everything ready for the cross country move to Ohio.  Some people say I am nuts for making this move due to weather but nuts or not, that's where our families live and we gotta go be nuts with them.

Packing and arranging to have everything moved is a nightmare with looking for the right company to move your furniture, then looking for the right company to move your car. We have 2 but we are going to drive one across.   Special insurance too!   Very expensive.  I thought several times of dumping everything and buying new in Ohio but we have so many collectables that it makes no sense.  However, we are selling lots of large items and stuff we haven't seen or used in a year or so  has been sold through craigs list, ebay or moving sales.  We have really 'thinned out the herd'.   I don't have as much time to spend here and this is why.

Do you know anyone who thinks he/she "knows it all?" My cousin is like that. How do you deal with someone like this?
Answers: 8 Views: 1079 Rating: 7 Posted: 8 years ago

I had a friend like that.  One time, a few of us were sitting around and decided to have a little fun with this ' know it all'.  He was due to show up anytime so we formulated this game.  We all had 5  torn pieces of paper with a shape on it and a number. Like a square with the number 5. (example)  And we had a deck of cards.  We kinda made some stupid rules but the game had no  rhyme or reason, there was no pattern, nothing made sense.

So he shows up and we are sittng around the table, one guy draws a card, says 5 spades (the card was a queen of hearts) with that, he lays down a piece of paper with the square and a number 5 on it, and a couple of us started arguing that the move was wrong.

Sure as heck, after a few moves, he buts in and started telling us how to play this game and that he had played it many times.  When we told him it was a joke, he still argued that 'no this game is real' and continued showing us how to play it.

The moral of this story lies in your question, 'forget it' you can do nothing.  He will be like this the rest of his life, eventually he/she may quiet down because they realize their sickness but it will continue.

My computer always crash and cannot start anymore.
Answers: 7 Views: 1722 Rating: 2 Posted: 8 years ago

Wait a minute--- If your computer is always crashing and cannot start anymore makes no sense.

I will assume you mean that it crashes and you need to reboot the system.

There's a few reasons for this, if your computer loses power during the crash it's most likely the power supply.   get a new power supply.

Other reasons are too many to mention here,  CB offered a good link to help you.

In honor of Mothers Day - - --What did you learn from your mother ?
Answers: 13 Views: 2537 Rating: 5 Posted: 8 years ago

I learned how to duck a flying shoe, avoid a swinging broom and how to keep my mouth shut during conversations that do not concern me.  And some that do concern me.   I miss my mom! :(

Are you afraid of the police - law enforcement ?
Answers: 13 Views: 1636 Rating: 7 Posted: 8 years ago

I have never been afraid of the police because I have never done any criminal acts to be afraid.  I have been afraid when I am speeding.  Hardly a  criminal offense unless drunk.

As it's already been said here, those that run have reason to run, which in turn give police every right to suspect and give chase.   I think it is terribly ignorant of some that blame police in every incident, where as the 'perp' has a gun or not, if they make a move  which indicates a weapon may or may not be forthcoming, makes no difference, the police can not wait until this person fires first and can not take a chance that he's stupd enough to reach in his pocket for chewing gum.

Sorry, I back the police 95%-- 5% reserved for bad cops.   And I put that ratio at 95%: 5 %.  There's a bad apple in every bushel.

Incidentally,  Please don't confuse 'ego trip with show of authority.   One of the things they teach in police academy is the show of authority, for exaple, when taking down a perp, you will hear the agressive yelling to 'GET DOWN, HAND BEHIND BACK!  DON'T MOVE!!  Etc, this is to intimidate.   Sometimes a cop will seem a bit agressive with you for no reason you can think of but the cop has a few of his own, you may fit a discription, you may have acted or drove erratically - In any event, he/she is simply letting you know who is in charge.  I see no wrong in that as opposed to being a wuss and possibly ending up in an altercation because the cop was a nice guy.
