what is spiritual strength
Answers: 4 Views: 484 Rating: 2 Posted: 12 years ago
For any religion< I suppose it is the connection to a higher power/value that enables us to maintain or improve our daily moral decisions (or even ammoral ones). In a recent 12-step program, in seeking spirituality from a "higher power", an atheist chose to see her future healthy, un-addicted self as her higher power to strive for and emulate. Belief in action?

How do you explain 'deja vu' ?
Answers: 15 Views: 1399 Rating: 6 Posted: 12 years ago
repeated deja vu may possibly be a symptom of a mild seizure. I had them as a kid. I had none of the convulsions or body movements, just lots of deja vu. If you have a Dr., you might mention it & ask. The test is a simple EEG (electrodes on head).

explain how to access extra support or services to enable individuals to communicate effectively?
Answers: 1 Views: 20045 Rating: 0 Posted: 12 years ago
If this is a physical/medical problem, ask your doctor. If it is a problem in a personal or social setting, there are times when communication problems are related to other personal issues, and I recommend a therapist. Worked great for me.

how do you interact with individuals that respect their beliefs, culture, values and preferences?
Answers: 20 Views: 63153 Rating: 10 Posted: 12 years ago
If you can't earn 3 degrees in anthropology today, try humility to show you are open to learning, then ask questions. You can also relate examples of how you would do/believe things differently. Then the new understanding will lead to greater mutual respect and personal or profressional trust. Be yourself and allow them to be themselves. If talking about a whole culture, call a local church/group/etc. of the culture and ask for materials you can learn from.

Are we programmed to fear death, or just the manner of our death
Answers: 3 Views: 496 Rating: 1 Posted: 12 years ago
There are too many cultures in the world who look at death in different ways to even think of "programming". Pergaps you are referring to our own personal/family raising? In general,in our culture, I'd say we all fear the manner of our death. The emerging Teen "Death Culture" of skulls and skeletons clothing seems to say they don't fear death at all.
