About fourteen years ago I found out who I really was when a friend of mine challenged me to read the NT bible. God spoke to me through His word and I seen the ugly of my soul. There was good there as well, but the ugly needed to be taken out.
We cannot trust our stoney heart, God says; "Jer 17:9 The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it?"
But God promised a cure for those willing to accept it; "Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh."
One might argue "I have a soft and loving heart, my heart is not cold and stoney". One might ask themsleves, do you really love all people, even those who persecute you and despitefully use you? All are born with a measure of love and the capacity to love, but the dark ugly hate is right there as well.
Jesus acknowledged that even the wicked can do good things; "Luk 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? "
If you want to find out who you really are just read the word of God, the Christian bible. The bible has the answer to every question concerning life and death, heaven and hell.
God Bless!
Nobody?
Signs of the times spoken of by the prophets.
I like it!
Maybe Paul. When you read his testamony and what he went through for Jesus I would put him in the running for sure.
We Chrsitians need to be careful though not to make the lost feel like they are ok with God when they are not. We hold the truth and the lost need to hear. It doesn't much matter if everybody loves you while on this earth and thinks you are very agreeable just to find out that you wasn't clear with them when they are seperated from God forever.
Actually, those Christians who are not so active in evangelism would be ignoring quite a bit of the teachings of the bible and we Christians will be judged.
2Ti 4:1 ¶ I charge [thee] therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2Ti 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
Pilate ask Jesus this very question.
Jhn 18:37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. Jhn 18:38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault [at all].
Truth is found in Jesus.
When we receive our new ressurrected bodies we will not eat out of hunger, but for our pleasure. I would offer Him all I have available.
Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
The very fact that there is no peace proves the bible is true. Jesus said there would be no peace until He comes back and puts a stop to all the hatred. All who hate Jesus will be destroyed, all who love Him will be saved. There is only one God and One Mediator between God and man, Christ Jesus. God's love is freely offered to all through Jesus Christ alone, those who reject this love will not be spared.
I don't know any christians who are right all the time. Only God is perfect and when He walked on this earth as a human He was the only perfect person ever. This is why we place our trust in Jesus.
