This has restored my faith in the Justice system. We MUST live by the law of innocent until PROVEN guilty no matter what emotional opinions we may carry.

Even if a person admits to killing another person the EVIDENCE must prove it was done. All this prosecution had was theories. We cannot convict on theories.

Personally, I believe Casey had some kind of culpability in this death, but the prosecution really overreached with premeditated murder, as they so often do.

    Ann

    I agree.

    Well said, FriendofGod.

as Ann said it best...only Casey knows what happened...but I cried tears inside when I heard the whole story...I WAS ONLY THINKING BOUT THAT LITTLE GIRL...but I know she is in Heaven...finally in a better place if you ask me
She got away with murder. Whether it was 1st, 2nd, 3rd degree, etc.
    Ann

They failed to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.
    IamPamela313

    You're right, they failed...

A year later, there was precious little evidence left. They did their best.
she got away with it for now , she wont be aquitted by the one true judge
    Ann

There was not enough evidence to know what actually happened
    daren1

she cover her tracks all to well
    FriendofGod

If she was so smart at covering tracks she probably would have removed the "murder weapon" before disposing of the body and would have placed the body in a place where alligators would have done away with it quite quick rather than 19 feet off the road and a stone throw away from her house.

She wasn't so smart. She lucked out...for now.
    itsmee

she is free and nothing more can be done. there can't be a retrial. she was guilty. guilty. guilty.
    Ann

Only Casey knows what happened. But what goes around, comes around.
    FriendofGod

There is always reconcilliation with God. Casey could hear the gospel and call on Jesus Christ to forgive her.

Casey will pay for what she did. This is not something that can just be washed away.
    FriendofGod

Oh the precious blood of Jesus!

    For those who will believe....

1Cr 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

She will still have to pay for what she did.
The Law has prevailed given the information the Jurors had. I am very happy for Caseys Family that it is over. They went through hell.
I for one believe Casey Anthony is guilty, though others believe Casey is not.
    FriendofGod

Guilty of what though? Premeditated Murder? I believe she somehow inadvertantly killed her child and tried to cover it up. But charging premeditated was just plain dumb for the prosecuters.
    Ann

I believe it was an accitental death and she panicked

I believe according to your religion FoG, lying is a sin. It's still a crime against both God and mankind if she lied about causing her daughters death. She's still guilty and should be in prison.
    FriendofGod

Have you ever lied Colleen? Should you be in prison for lying?
    Colleen

If I lied about not killing someone when I actually did, yes!
    FriendofGod

No proof of premeditation. They overreached, they didn't investigate throroughly enough. The police could have had the remains six months in advance while there was more evidence left, but they arogantly dismissed the tip.
I believe she was guilty, why would she lie about where her daughter was and not help police unless she was hiding the facts.
    Ann

Like Cylees abduction by the babysitter, a made up story. But even after all that, they could not prove how or when Caylee died. Caseys actions after the fact, speak louder than words.
What bothers me about the Anthony case is where was the father, he should have been there to help her and took some of the strain off of her. Maybe the child would be alive if he had done his part.
    dad59

Accordingly the father is DEAD, not very long ago a lady stated she thought her son (Whom died/auto accident) might be CAYLEE'S father, they ask about DNA testing haven't heard anything yet.
    Headless Man

That would excuse him but nothing less........lol
I believe CASEY got away with the murder of CAYLEE then the defense team and 12 "MORONS" came along an killed this poor child all over again. Like daren1 said the true judge will prevail and I pray GOD makes each an everyone of the defense team, the 12 MORONS remembers this if, one of their loved ones meets some fate and the accused is freed. But this case proves our JUDICAL SYSTEM SUCKS and a TRUE JOKE as stated in other opinions there should not be a double jeopardy clause in cases of this nature. Hopefully someone give will Casey TRUE JUSTICE. An AMERICA wonders why, we have such high crime rates, now watch the murder cases with this type scenery rise THANKS TO AMERICA JUSTICE!!!
    Ann

They knew she was quilty of covering up,but unable to proof it.
    Ann

The prosecution is at fault for charging her with first degree murder and could not prove it. If they had charged her with Manslaughter or involitary Manslaughter she probably would have been convicted. Beeing set free is not a victory for her personally. She will never find peace wherever she goes.
    dad59

@Ann, I believe Caylee died during a commission of Felony Child Abuse that spells MURDER. Our criminal system is the worst in the world where the innocent goes to prison, the GUILTY goes FREE to repeat their crimes.
    Ann

It has happened in this case. No Justice for little Caylee.
She was guilty, whether of neglect or murder, she should have been punished.Shame on America!
    Ann

Sadly there was no way to proof it.
After hearing the defense closing arguments, I had to agree, the State had not proven their case. I was still surprised to hear the verdict, because actually I think she did it.
    Ann

Casey cant tell the truth, that is apparent by all the lies she told. She knows what happened to Caylee.
Justice for Casey HAS been served. The state never had one itota of a case: no cause of death, no motive, no direct evidence. I believe that Caylee's death was accidental, probably from being left in a hot car or drowning in the family pool, and that Casey had help from her family in tampering with evidence. This is just another prime example of why no all women should have kids. Hopefully, Casey's learned tat she's one of those women.
    Ann

You are right. I always believed Caylees death was accidental and not premeditated. This is a great Victory for the defense.
    dad59

Even, if true CAYLEE still died from a criminal act but if, it was accidental WHY HIDE/THROW HER BODY AWAY LIKE TRASH?
    Ann

Because she thought she could away with it and she did. Had they found Caylees body sooner, there would have been enough evidence to convict her.
PROVES ONCE AGAIN THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF DUMB PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD. I THOUGHT THE OJ JURY WAS THE DUMBEST, BUT THIS JURY RANKS RIGHT UP THERE.
    Ann

A Jurys verdict is influenced by the evidence that is presented at a trial. The Prosection failed to proof its case.
    TSC

    I don't agree Miss Ann, XXOO ;)
The law has spoke however only she knows for sure and she is the one who must bear guil if any for it
    itsmee

psychopaths are unable to feel guilt. i believe she is a true psychopath.
    matheneyg

maybe But I do believe with all sinserity that she alone will have to bear the guilt for what she was accused of if she did it, what I believe does not matter A higher judgement will address this now
    Ann

    That is true.
Twelve people agreed quite quickly that the prosecution did not prove that Casey killed the way they said she did. THe prosecution should have done a better job of finding the truth rather than making something up.
    Ann

The prosecution admiited that they had no physical evidence because Caylees body was not found until a year later and all the evidence was gone by then.
    Colleen

Correct Ann. Sometimes there just is no evidence.
Do you realize how the public is going to treat Casey after this? I pray she can find a loving CHristian fellowship that can give her protection and comfort and that she can find the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour. May the Lord draw her to Himself and protect her from the evil that would want to cast stones at her and kill her for her sins.

He who is without sin, cast the first stone.

Bull. Should we let all murders go free because no one is free of sin according to your religion? I personally never said to kill her so you're generalizing with your statement here.
    FriendofGod

I don't see anywhere in any of my post where I said murderers should go free. Casey could confess and still has to be proven by EVIDENCE. It is the greatest system in the world. If it cannot be proven then we have to let God deal with it.
    Colleen

I see it even if you do not. I see it as the basis of your agreement, do not cast stones at a murderer unless you are sin free. In other words, ignore them and walk away.
    FriendofGod

They didn't prove murder, the point is mute.
    Colleen

Not to the letter of the law but Casey's lies and actions or non actions after her daughter "went missing" have proven it.
    IamPamela313

Casey may have to move to another country. Her freedom will not be well accepted with most people here in the USA!
    FriendofGod

Signs of how this country is losing it's love for due process.
She was found guilty of lying to the police. Will probably get around 4 years in jail.
    Colleen

They figure she won't get any time for that either with having 3 years served already.
    FreedomFighter

Just heard that on the news. I didn't follow the story so you are probably correct.
Here is the hypocrisy in many of the people who a so upset over this verdict....

Casey could have walked with her baby down to the local Planned Parenthood and asked the people there to pull Cayley out of her comfortable resting place by the feet, careful not to let Cayley's head slip out (she might scream), take a pair of forecepts and poke a hole in the back of Cayley's skull and then use a vacume to suck Cayley's brains out just to make sure she is dead and no one who is upset about this verdict would have said a peep about Casey having her baby killed. Not one peep from them!

Do these same people who are so upset about how Cayley died bothered at all by how babies are ripped apart piece by piece until dead having no escape and no way to scream for help??
    Ann

I do not think that this is comparable to what actually happend to Caylee. Caylee was 21/2 years old when she died. How is anybodys guess.
    ClevelandRick

    WOW!!!!!!!!!!

You're a bit over the top with this FoG Some do not believe there is life until AFTER a baby is born. Caylee was a living breathing, laughing, talking human being. Not a mass of organic material still forming into something recognizable.

Abortion still does not make what Casey did right. You're becoming quite mean, condemning and vengeful with your sermons. I will remind you, reality check. You ARE NOT GOD.
    itsmee

i <3 colleen. many times when one of us goes quite over the top she's there with an answer.
I agree with you 100 per cent, colleen, but i can not say my words so well.
yes, FOG, is becoming mean. i can't even understand how she can say what she said.
i hope she doesn't have kids. Oooooph!
    FriendofGod

HAve you ever seen a baby in the womb at nine months Colleen? Are you saying you don't find abortion at nine months a horiffic killing? Yet no crys from the pro-abortion crowd. They just don't care as long as the mother has the right to kill the baby before it gets a breath of air.
    Headless Man

Your right on FoG, life begins at conception.
    Colleen

    Moderator
FoG, no one is legally allowed to abort a 9 month old baby. There is no proof life begins at conception. This is why the law states, it is not alive unless it is breathing oxygen or can be capable of breathing oxygen on it's own out side of the womb. The law would classify that act (aborting a 9 month old) murder because it's lungs would have been formed enough to accept and use oxygen. Where exactly are these 9 month old abortions taking place?
    Headless Man

    If it's growing it's alive.

Again, it's not proof of life with a Soul. Proof of life containing a Soul is a matter of opinion.
    FriendofGod

Ahh, you mess up in your argument Colleen. You believe the soul is created and sent by God into life after life. You believe EVERYTHING has a soul. You believe that yourself has been a human being once before.
    FriendofGod

Partial birth abortion was legal and routeen in this country until GW Bush finally signed into law the prohibition of partial birth abortion in 2003. Clinton refused to sign it into law previously and Obama also refused to vote for the ban when he was in Congress. In spite of the pro-abortion crowd's objections to the ban, more level heads prevailed and the pro-abortion side seen it as a blow to their agenda. If they had it their way, this horiffic killing would still be celebrated by the PLan Parenthood crowd.
    Colleen

    Moderator
I did not mess up because I do not believe Soul enters at the moment of conception. You are using an old law that is not even on the books at this time for your argument. That makes your argument mute.
    Headless Man

So tell me if not at conception, when does the Soul inter the body?
When can a time be proven.
I say conception, you say something else, I say be on the safe side until something else can be proven.
    Colleen

    Moderator
And others disagree with you, hence the law. It doesn't think the moment of conception either.
