OKAY,.............................What now??!!!!
I live in the U.S.. First choice by far is Ireland, then Canada, Scotland, Switzerland, and England, Might change with the ability to visit more abroad! Being in a foreign speaking country is a bit intimidating to think of actually living and working there. What the heck, though, enjoy a challenge in life! You never know where it might lead.
jhharlan, before I read the rest of your question, the very first thing that came to mind, of ALL the other possibilities was "swimming,..especially in the ocean!" It exhilirates and exhaustes you!
Pastry chef,....and anyone who doubts needs to work full bore in a commercial kitchen for a week. Fork-lift drivers are just that, drivers. They may have to physically move merchandise some but the machines are doing most of the work, while they are sitting down. Kitchen work, especially commercially, is grueling. I have done both, I know. Walk a mile before judging......
That is a surprise. You rarely hear of people these days reading something such as "Gone with the Wind". I have never read that book. I should. Once a year? I rarely watch a movie more than once or twice, and is also true with books. Admire those that do. You get the most out of the book in the end. I look to visit the next exciting situation! Thanks for sharing!
I am so sorry, Tommyh.........A very hard situation to deal with. Pray and hope the very best circumstances come about for everyone involved! A call for prayers!!
I totally understand, working with the general public, you NEVER know what may happen! You can lament the fact that this and that never happenend. Yet, here you are.......
ere you are, just wanting to get home.
People almost never really change. If someone is rude under the circumstance of anonymity then you know right away that they are to be avoided. Can't be trusted. This is seen way too often in traffic circumstances. They think they are shielded from harm by way of their vehicle and speed but certainly it comes out in all areas of their life, with not so good results. How someone handles traffic, especially including truly idiot drivers, is a very good way to judge character. Tolerant and forgiving,....you are either are or you are not.
WOW, that is sad. Please come back when you can!! We'll be waiting to hear back from you,..for you to come back into the fold!! Whatever the reason, we welcome you again, when you are ready!!
English, and probably try too perfectly in some circumstances, because it's the only one I've ever really known. Although, I will say that every now and then I will slip (from where I don't know) a small French phrase or question into my thinking or verbage. I can only equate this to the fact that I took 3 years of French in high school and haven't, and don't want to, lose it totally. Funny, I have been ruminating lately about wheteher or not I will take on the responsibility to really learn a foreign language as best I can. We'll see.
