what gift do you give for 50th wedding anaversary
Answers: 3 Views: 1129 Rating: 0 Posted: 12 years ago

How nice. I am glad that someone made it to their 50th year, married. Something in Crystal, a monument or a souvenier. One of my friends gave her parents an Award made of gold which closely resembled an Oscar award. Another gave her Dad a gold tie pin and her mum a gold bracelet. Another gave them a very valuable wall painting from an artist of repute showing "togetherness". Let your heart rule.. then the choice is unbeatable :).

How can I delete people & photos from facebook?
Answers: 2 Views: 359 Rating: 1 Posted: 12 years ago

"unfriend" people, "unsubscribe" on their wall posts. Deleting photographs go to the album, click on the photograph, there is a * with a hole in it, click on that, then if it is a photograph sent by someone else with your name as a tag, delete the tag first. Topmost option, then you will be asked whether you want to remove it, click on remove/delete and it won't disappear immediately, but if you go off the page and return, the picture has gone. I just tested it myself to make sure I go it right :). In fact, thanks by asking this, I also wanted to delete some photographs but never got around to doing so. Just stick to the basics. Don't bother to report people, that just causes them unnecessary trouble and gives you a bad name with face book :).

I keep getting the following mesg ; The following plug-in has crashed ?
Answers: 2 Views: 448 Rating: 0 Posted: 12 years ago

My own experience with this machine, there is a program that is in conflict with the rest of the system, you may to go into DP preferences and allow older versions to run on XP or Vista for example. Running a windows 98 program (example Frog Frenzy, "Emperor's New Groove" )on an XP results in the same problem, including silverlight and Mozilla which also crashes. Reinstalling the software that crashes does help, and make frequent saves if documentation so that you can recover the material and continue. Blessed with the Windows movie maker, otherwise all my videos would not be on you tube. The movie maker  crashes too when you are keying in too  fast and the machine ties up and that happens when the system is slow or the material is taking up too much memory, but has its own recovery and asks that the file be recovered.  I don't normally answer questions on computers unless the same problem applies to me :)

my wife had a failed hernia why wont the hospital fix it with out spending another 17thousand
Answers: 6 Views: 610 Rating: 1 Posted: 12 years ago

How long ago was the hernia operation? If it is recent i.e. within 2 months and she has not done any hard work which causes the return of the hernia, you will have a hard time showing proof that she has not caused the hernia again. Lifting heavy objects is one cause of a failed hernia operation. That is the reason why they will not redo the operation. You may instead, get the second opinion of a surgeon who does hernia operations and prove that the operation that was done does not meet the necessary procedures through surgery to prevent its return, i.e. sutures that were not close enough to prevent the rupture once again! She should have also worn a hernia belt after the operation, and the hospital should have advised her to do so. If they did not, then you have a good case, only if the hospital or doctor who tended her, had to give her advise on how to prevent its return, and failed to do so. Good Luck!.

Were you named after anyone, first name that is?
Answers: 20 Views: 1299 Rating: 7 Posted: 12 years ago

Now Jean-paul means "God's Grace" and Paul means "small or humble." Sometimes parents name their children for one reason, and the person becomes the person that the name implies. I guess that is why numerology also plays such a major role in child naming and such.  Paul was my dad too and he was a professor of Anatomy, and a very large man physically. He had several other names which probably made him what he was :).

Andrea is a man, and my mother desperately wanted a boy, and she had a boyfriend called "Andrew" when she was 6, so rather than let on to my dad, she named me such which means  manly and beautiful and dared. "manly, virile" is also used. 'Man, warrior; manly. Then the more feminine side would be the Latin meaning "Womanly" or "Beautiful Lady". She is steadfast and confident, honest and reliable.A tower of strength for those she cares for and a rock to the family. So my mother got what she wanted, and I am cursed because I think like a man and have the body of a female and I have to do the job of a man most often and I don't accept rubbish from anyone especially since I believe in the freedom of expression (that comes with being a teacher) and human rights and everything that respects others.

And I do not believe in power struggles either, its in the politics and policies practiced here in SL. The most frustrating about being named after someone is that all the males who have lost their boyfriends who are called "Andy" beseech their lovers return, so I am an agony aunt on my network as well.I also get inundated with females who want to bed me :). Too old for either!

Is it true that chocolate is bad for a dog and why?
Answers: 3 Views: 586 Rating: 0 Posted: 12 years ago

It is bad and per my doggy book.. Sugar is disastrous for dogs because it increases their hyperactivity. Dogs are naturally hyperactive therefore they do not need any adrenalin or sugar boosts .  Per my dad (vet) it can even cause death, so not even a finger lick is good, I know, depressing, but you would do your dog a disservice by giving it chocolate. Try good raw hide dog treats, or dog biscuits, the right balance and bones straight from the butcher!

Taken from the web :)

Chocolate contains theobromine, a compound that is a cardiac stimulant and a diuretic.

When affected by an overdose of chocolate, a dog can become excited and hyperactive. Due to the diuretic effect, it may pass large volumes of urine and it will be unusually thirsty. Vomiting and diarrhoea are also common. The effect of theobromine on the heart is the most dangerous effect. Theobromine will either increase the dog’s heart rate or may cause the heart to beat irregularly. Death is quite possible, especially with exercise.

Freshman Jorge Blacido of Ramsey got the first goal of his Fairleigh Dickinson career, and sophomore Alejandro Bedoya scored two unassisted goals to lead the Knights' men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Stony Brook in Monday night's home opener.

In the 41st minute of an overcast and humid game, freshman Chris Wymer found Bedoya on a breakaway. Bedoya fed Blacido, who blasted the ball into the right corner for what would become the winner.

Do you think, someone smart can tell if someone is stupid> OR maybe visa versa!
Answers: 15 Views: 849 Rating: 6 Posted: 12 years ago

The truly smart ones will never let on that they are smart by criticizing or saying something to the stupid, because the stupid cannot help being stupid, while the smart can outsmart themselves by saying something stupid, thus proving that the smart can be downright stupid! And if they were or are smart, they would not want to look stupid while trying to be smart! ;).

Where in Mexico were Americans killed the past 12 months? Understand over 100 have been killed.
Answers: 1 Views: 271 Rating: 0 Posted: 12 years ago

Quote Sevil Omer msbnc

No one can say for certain how many Americans have been killed in the escalating Mexican drug violence in the past several years, but the closest thing to an official list — the U.S. State Department’s database of deaths of U.S. citizens abroad by non-natural causes — indicates that the number has been steadily increasing.

At least 106 U.S. residents were victims of "executions" or "homicides" directly related to drug battles in Mexico in 2010, compared to 79 in 2009 and 35 in 2007, according to the State Department figures.

Many deaths, disappearances aren't tallied
And experts — and the State Department itself — say the number is certainly much higher. For example, the State Department doesn’t list several recent high-profile deaths that have been publicly linked to the drug cartels or cases in which Americans have vanished or been killed in the U.S. by Mexican drug gangs.

"You have a lot of folks who are dual citizens, with some born in the U.S. but (who) live on the Mexico side," Scott Stewart, a vice president with the global intelligence firm STRATFOR, said of the difficulty in documenting American deaths connected to cartel violence. "A lot of them are working back and forth and some are working as gunmen too. And when someone like that dies, it is hard to know. Some simply disappear while others are lying in a vat of lye or dumped into a mass grave."

STRATFOR also says the presence of cartels has been documented in more than 230 U.S. cities.

The number of American deaths pales in comparison to the Mexican death toll from the violence: 15,273 in 2010 alone, according to the Mexican government.

But some U.S. law enforcement officials closest to the border say that new aggressiveness by the cartels — including threats to target U.S. law enforcement officers — and increasing drug gang violence on the U.S. side of the border mean that more Americans will die if the U.S. and Mexico can’t soon turn the tide.
