If you're talking about decking and fencing, I would recommend Thompson's Water Sealer. You can buy it by the gallon in cans like paint. It's clear, and I used a portable pump-type sprayer to coat my wood fence (unpainted). It seems expensive, but it did a fantastic job. I did it every other year from the time I had the fence put up, and it kept it looking brand new. The wood will stay brown instead of splintering and turning all gray. I highly recommend this; it is undoubtedly worth the time and effort, considering the expense of having a fence put up. Trust me, you won't be sorry you used it!

The story behind this idea of pregnancy and cats has to do with a disease called 'toxoplasmosis". Cats can carry a parasite in their intestines called "toxoplasma". In most cases it doesn't affect the cat, but the problems arise when a pregnant woman changes a litter box that's contaminated with this parasite. Toxoplasma can cause great harm to a fetus. Doctors therefore advise pregnant women not to change litter boxes, so they can avoid this problem altogether. If you absolutely have to clean the litter box yourself, just use gloves and wash your hands thoroughly afterwards. And as an extreme cat lover, I'm begging you to please not get rid of your precious kitty!

I believe this is because if you had to receive blood during the surgery, it could have been contaminated with HIV or other viruses like hepatitis B or C. Granted, all blood products are screened at donation for viruses, but there's a window of infection in a person when the virus can't be detected. For example, a donor could have been infected with HIV a week or two before he donated, and his blood won't test positive for HIV at that point. If that blood was then given to you, a year gives your body plenty of time to test positive for HIV if it's there.
