As you can read...it depends...on what you believe.

A true Christian is one who believes Jesus as Lord and savior..

There are a bunch of people in this world Daren who believe that Jesus is Lord and Savior but this does Not make them a Christian. A true Christian must do more than just believe. He/She must also follow the commands set in place by God. (*~*)

@ CB couldn't agree more. the lord said "depart from me for i never knew you..

I imagine it is all on how you look at things and what you have been taught.  I have studied religion and  I believe we are all connected... I choose not to attach labels.

The greatest thing is, for me, that we are all part of the journey.  We don't have to understand every single thing today.  Life is a smile.

    C'est bon!

JoshuaJ:  Why did you vote Fishlet down? We have an unwritten rule around here that you always give an explanation of why you voted someone down. You have yet to give Fishlet any reason for voting her down.  Don't you think it is the Christianly thing to do, to explain yourself?

    JoshuaJ

I didn't know it was frowned upon, I figured it happened regularly, my newbie apologies to all those offended.

Jesus was never thrilled with organized religion...in fact, it drove him bonkers!!!!!  Do you think He's happy watching his believers bicker about who really loves him...who practices the "best" way of Celebrating on Sunday...????  I don't think it makes him happy at all.  Every single Christian Church is "Man Made"...Because 'men' are fallible.

    JoshuaJ

I've said it before, there are Catholics that love Jesus. I fell away from the faith for many years because of organized religion. The RCC embraces many false teachings and I spread biblical truth out of love not hate. I'll admit that I am strict in my beliefs, but God is the strictest of judges.

He's a brain-dead dude. No critical thinking left.

if I were to believe in Jesus and his teachings, I think compassion understanding, and forgiveness would come to the fore, not judgmental black and white rules

That's not why I voted you down.

start explaining- to Fishlet why you voted her down!!!!!

You're just another mixed up religious man looking for a war. Take it elsewhere. IT WILL NOT be allowed here. Thank you for being yet another follower of man's made up religion of God who proves that religion and all "holy" books and churches and preachers of any kind should be outlawed. You people bring nothing but hate, discord and WAR. Throw down your sword Joshua, the people here you called wicked are closer to God than you are and unless you change your ways, you will distance yourself from Him faster than you distance yourself from those you call wicked.
    JoshuaJ

Voted down for promoting new age satanic theology, scary stuff.

@ Colleen, Christians never started any wars. I believe people should have the freedom to believe what they want but I am a student of prophecy and I can see the great apostacy of satan in full swing, if you want to go into detail I suppose we can.

Beware the false profits. I believe you are one Joshua. Religion is what will destroy this world. Christian Crusaders, they held a reign of terror over the world and slaughtered by the thousands. All in the name of a man made God. You will create no war on this forum.
    JoshuaJ

Me?! I haven't ever made a prophecy in my life, I just understand the one's in the Bible. Colleen, I do believe you are stepping on some Catholic toes here, they started the crusades and killed tens, if not hundreds of millions of Christians during the inquisition. The Bible commands us to not kill, so the true church of God has never started a war. I think it would be profitable for you to investigate the Jesuits and their role in the world wars.

And you have taken up their sword whether you see it or not. I step on no toes by speaking of a historical fact. They were Christian Crusaders, followers of Christ. Denomination does not matter. Men of the lord order the killings and carried out the killings all in the name of a man who the people proclaimed God.

I believe you think you are a prophet.

All wars are because one side believes their God is greater than all other Gods. Religions create wars.

    As for the Jesuits:
The Society of Jesus (Latin: Societas Iesu, S.J., SJ, or SI) is a Christian male religious order that follows the teachings of the Catholic Church.
The society's founding principles are contained in the document Formula of the Institute, written by Ignatius of Loyola. Jesuits are known for their work in education (founding schools, colleges, universities and seminaries), intellectual research, and cultural pursuits, and for their missionary efforts. Jesuits also give retreats, minister in hospitals and parishes and promote social justice and ecumenical dialogue.
Yup, they sound like war mongers.

You'd better explain why you gave me thumbs down too, strange, dude!
    FISH-O

JoshuaJ... I am not New Age and it seems to me you are the one not only promotingmyour religion but bashing other members for having a different view point other than yours.
I don't promote anything Satanic as I don't believe in Satan.
    End of story.
If you insist on demeaning me and my belief system I suggest you do your homework first.

If that is all the research you are going to do that is sad, I've read books on them and countless hours of study. They were following the Pope's orders, not God's. God doesn't approve of the RCC and it's wars, that should be clear.

So God speaks to you personally for you to know that God does not approve of the RCC? You a follower of words written down by men and not God would point a finger at others who follow the words of men? Doesn't this cast you as a prophet if you believe you follow the orders of God that can only come to you by God Himself and not by words written by men? For you to claim you know God's disapproval of another religion must mean He spoke it directly to you. Otherwise, this all comes from your own interpretation of words written in books. Opinion is not truth.

I have one very important question for you (please think before you answer it). What about the Christians World Wide who join their Country's Military Forces and wind up killing people in a war????
Do you have any friends that are not in your church? Do not follow your version of Christianity? Don't believe Christ is the Savior? Are Jewish? Muslim? Buddists? Aithiests? Agnostics? ....etc????? Why do I think the answer is No to all of the above.
We are fine that you moved denominations and are Christian. We are fine with any religious points of view that aren't offensive. We are fine with anyone who doesn't judge others on their religious views. This is a World Wide site with many respected members.
    JoshuaJ

@ Colleen, The Bible is the innerant word of God, the Bible is pretty clear that we shouldn't murder others. The fulfilled prophecies of this book set it apart from any other in the world.

@ doolittle, Christians should not join the military, the agenda of this government is not a Godly one, quite the opposite in fact. If there was a foreign invader on our soil joining the military would be just fine. I actually have a pretty diverse group of friends, and when they hear what I have to say about the world and Christianity they listen. I have spread a lot of truth to them and some have listened, others have not, and that's their God given freedom of choice. I sat down with a good agnostic friend of mine and showed him a video and talked, I didn't impart any biased view on him but rather let him just watch, it was a seven part video, after the first video he looked at me and asked if we could watch the second, before I knew it we had watched the whole thing and I could tell he was moved. That friend chose to continue his spiritual journey elsewhere but he enjoyed watching what I believed to be truth and said that was the first time he thought that Christianity just might be the real deal. All I can do is present truth when the situation calls for it. I don't stand out in the streets and call people heretics for their beliefs, when someone poses a question on this site I simply impart what I know to be truth, I wouldn't give an answer if I didn't know it was fact. God bless.
