    Who wrote the bible ?

Why has the information came from thousands of years ago and not present day ? Has anything been added since last 50 years , why or why not ?  I do like some things about the bible like the ten commandents.

zorro: that's included in the LAS Bible. You also get a history about the author of each book.

I don't have the answer for you, but I can give you a few resources which have been helpful to me. The Life Application Study Bible has about 50 historians, scientists, and theologians who have provided historical background and contemporary interpretation of the Bible.  I sent one to my son (the one in jail), and he is having trouble with nearly everyone wanting to read it at the same time.

The Case for Faith and The Case for Christ, both by Lee Strobel (Stroebel?) were written by an atheist who wanted to disprove the Bible and Jesus. He is now a Christian minister. I found these two books extremely helpful to me. He has some other books, but I've not read them yet.
I don't know what television station it is that has a show called "Bible Mysteries Solved" (or something like that), which I would recommend to you also.

I'm sure somewhere there are manuscripts and documents that portend to be extensions of the Bible.  The Book of Mormon is one example . I don't think I would believe anyone in today's world telling me he was writing an addendum to the Bible. I don't think there is anyone who would be universally recognized as having "divine guidance" in doing so.

The 10 Cs have an amazing history. I believe  no one is capable of following all of them without fail.  Contrary to U's dissertation on what's wrong with them and why they should be disregarded as qualities for which to strive, I don't see anything WRONG about trying to live by those guidelines.

I hope you  follow up on getting answers from a variety of sources so that you can make an informed decision regarding the question you have asked.  You will find so much diversity here as to just throw up your hands in despair of getting an answer you can trust.
