Why is my housemate so jealous of the time I spend here? It's my computer...

Simple. Because you know that you spend way too much time on this site every single day. It has become an obsession instead of a mere enjoyable distraction. YOU know it. You simply don't want to admit it. NOTHING is worth spending HOURS every day (except paid work).

You're right, of course... But it's still MY time. I should be watching TV instead? I'm having a good time here and getting my kicks... I cooked a good super tonight.......

I respect you for not attempting to deny your over indulgence to this site.
As for TV watching, surely you'll agree that there ARE alternative activities that you can partake in.
I think that if I saw my spouse glued to the laptop for hours on end every day, I'd start wondering myself. Not out of jealousy but more out of "W.T.F. is so captivating about whatever it is your addicted to?"

Anyway, I DO enjoy your comments so don't cut down too drastically,if at all.;-)

Different dynamics here . Appears your house mate desires your attention and sees the computer as competition for your attention . There is more going on than you may see.

    bluesman never misses a trick.

Because your housemate is jealous that you're having fun...

I AM having fun and he can't stand it! You should hear him...

    There's only one solution.

You have to make him join too.

There you go. Yobo is right...tell him to plug in his computer. You don't need negative energy...no one does. It's draining.

I couldn't have said it better, yobo.  Additionally, your housemate wants you to spend more time with her!

My housemate is a guy and he likes to come home to a perfect house and today I ignored some stuff. I like it here...

No wonder. If I had you as a housemate, I'd want you to pay some attention to me too.

From what I have read above, your housemate is a lucky man.  Does he cook? .....Julia manChild.

Tell him this  We're not married, your not my boss, and I'll do what I want  ,when I want, and only because I want to,

He is trying to control you. Acting like a willful child. Put him in time out!

Do not allow him to control you, it will grow to bigger things. Before long you will not be able to breathe without permission.

    Sour grape?

I was told once it was "The Other Man"...lol.

I always hear.. "OMG are you on that again" or  "I cant believe you still get on that site". I dont think it is jealously as much as it is confussion. (well, at my house).

I dont know the dinamic of your relationship... "housemate", If it is a romantic relationship I am sure he is jealous of your time being stolen away from him. If it is not, I imagine he is a little of a hard ass and is ginuinly mad about you not accomplishing the same tasks you once did.

Either way, you need the attention and outlet that this site has given you. (I know I do). He will learn to accept it or he will be ill. You just be YOU!

My wife for many years had a major issue with my passion for drag racing. My car was the other woman. She gave me an ultimatum once, my dragster or her. I stood my ground, kept my dragster, she never left and the subject became a non subject. She hasn't been to the track with me for 35 years, I go almost every week.
