The wind is a bit of a bother. But if you have a full-face helmet, not only will you look super-macho but you will get the full benefit of the smoke. Heck, you can even get a laugh for yourself by smoking outside a public building with one of those 'no smoking within 3 metres' signs. Have a cigar.

I asked the question because the USA raised it in the UN. Perhaps some here - perhaps Colleen- could write to their Senators and Congressmen and suggest that THEY are stupid instead of casting your misplaced wrath on me.

You look into who you are. You find the raw materials of your being, dig them out, refine them and make something that you can be proud of. Find the elements of your Authenticity and forge them into a 'whole', an Integrity.

WHAT you do is a matter of orientation, talent and attitude. Find those and the work or profession follow. But your first 'work' is YOU. If you create Integrity from what is Authentic in you, whatever you do in life witll be meaningful, satisfying and useful.

My sincere sympathy, Jewel. Broken hearts mend either by themselves or through some action you take. Or it can remain broken and agonising by repeated 'picking' at it. Simply 'putting it behind you' does not work. It only devalues the love that was there and the pain that is there.

May I suggest, my dear, that you accept the pain that you are experiencing as your part in understanding Love itself. Every experience you have can be a gift to offer up to God, and that includes the pain that often comes as a result of Love rejected. Your suffering is identical to the rejection pain that God feels when we turn our backs on Him. You can offer your pain to Him as a gift of empathy. Offering it as a gift gives your pain meaning and value and the act of giving relieves you of the pain and it is replaced by understanding. That clears the way for you to forgive the one who hurt you and forgive yourself for the anger that is part of that pain.

Life is very varied. Some things are 'Good', in the biblical sense (God looked and saw it was Good), but sometimes it is not too apparant - like when an earthquake knocks you house down and squashes your granny. Then it feels like a bit of a bugger.

And then there is age. It all looks pretty good when you are little and poking your fingers in things. But the bites soon cause you to wonder. It is a struggle sometimes. Everyone else seems to get in your way and they insist that they have just as much priority as you do !! Imagine that ! By the time you get to be quite old, you are tired of all the fun and really want to get off. But when it does all stop, that's your lot!

Good question and good examples. I am sure that you have been wrong about somethings at some time and yet knew that there was some justification for at least part of what you did or said. Here lies the most common problem. For many people their 'sorry' can be all inclusive and be taken as an admission that everything they said or did was wrong, when in fact just a small part was . Indeed, it may only be an inadvertent 'hurt' that was caused but a 'sorry' will be taken as an all encompassing 'fault'. Most people try to avoid that. It is annoying but very human.

Then there is the 'let's move on' / 'put it behind us' syndrome which is also very common these days. It simply avoids confronting the real issues and/or denies the other person an opportunity to clear the air. That is damned annoying too. Some matters are just too important to be left unexamined.
