This is a theological debate... Some are convinced that Jesus' great commandment and commission override the old testament... Some believe that they are in addition too the old Testament. 

My personal understanding is that the 10 commandments are eternal, the law of Moses was washed away by the blood of Christ. (cleanliness of body, and food  ect. ) 

Your relationship with Christ is your own. Let discernment be your guide.
