Maholm would not have that type of surgical scar from playing baseball. It is ear to ear over the top of his head, the kind of surgical scar that occurs when someone has a face injury that requires the scalp to be pulled down to expose the bones of the face for repair after an accident such as an automobile or motor cycle accident.
