      Walmart has some new window shades made of paper. The black ones are called Black Out shades and work well. My son has them on his windows. All you have to do is cut them down to size. They already have adhesive on them too. I think they are $5.88 each.
      They also come in white and gray.

        wow ... thankyou, it's getting soooo hot here and something has to be done about our electric bill. I actually have a giftcard for fifty dollars at walmart. i don't think they'd be bad in white ... maybe even look good.

        Be careful and don't just grab them because you see white. I think there are two shades(pun intended) of white and one will still allow light to show through while the other won't.

        I've seen people that have done that. Put the most reflective side facing out. It's very unattractive but it will probably help with the heat.

          I live in a factory town... with many shift workers. You will see fiol in windows to black out the bedroom. Blackout Window treatments that work are hard to find and very expiencive.
