      I am not sure how small but to preserve it and showcase it at the same time ....put it behind glass ...The matting could contain something of a history of the piece and WALLAH, a heirloom piece

        You might try building a wooden or PVC pipe triangle frame (use elbows, etc) and sew "sleeves" onto the two top sides of your quilt so the top of the frame won't show when the quilt is hung on point. Then slide the pipes or wooden dowels into the sleeves and hang on a nail that holds the pvc pipe! Hope that helps, Linda
