well from my experience and I have been working for the same company for well over 35 years now I am now seeing more and more animoisty among the staff I think it is called back-stabbing in order to try to make oneself look good. Seems to work for some bosses. Good thing I am not one would never work for me do not care for those type people. If one has to trash someone else to make oneself look good then I would have to say they are lacking greatly in skills for doing their jobs well and smoke screens and mirrors.
