Most of the local churches will have people who specialize in this area, my church has free counseling and some of the counselors have psychology degrees as well. Hope this helps...

I believe Narcotics Anonymous , AA etc. are for people that have been through a recovery program first, a hospital for addicts where doctors and nursers are there to help you recover, with medication, if needed. I know thats what I did. There were people there worse off than I was, and were hospitalized for longer periods of time. The nurses were wonderful, they were always there for you.

We had meetings every day where people that had already been through recovery, and they talked about how hard it was for them, but how they recovered. It also afforded the patients the time to ask questions.

I didn't enjoy going to the meetings, but I had to attend. I walked out a couple of times, but I would explain to the nurses why I did, and they never made me go back. Most of the time I would sit and just tune them out. I found a wonderful counselor that was able to help me - and, yes, with medications.

I believe drug dealers should go to jail, not the addicts - they need help to recover, and I don't think they can get that while they are behind bars. Sometimes they're able to get drugs while in jail. No, I don't think jail "should be the first option."

forget about counciling her youself. drugs and lies are two pees in the same pod. you need to deal with it as a whole. best you can do is lead her to a counciler, you can only help those that want to be helped. that dosen't mean you stop caring about her.first dont be an enabler , do not support her habbit,but help in otherways , food clothing, shelter.. probally best not in your own home. chances are if shes got a drug problem she also broke. hit her with love and kindness you get more with honey than vinigar..goood luck and god bless

Narcotics Anonymous is a 12 step program that is everywhere. Like AA in many respects the program is usually voluntary but can also be required by the courts. An untreated addicted drug user often needs time in jail to begin to straighten out. There is this line about addicted behavior..."You can tell they are lying because their lips are moving." Addicts will do anything to keep their favorite drugs coming along...Lying is one small part, begging and pleading and steeling anything and everything they can get their hands on from the cookie jar, bank accounts your grandmother's teeth and of course jewelry etc,etc. Like I said, jail...should be the first option.

YOU can not. People need to change themselves.
Set consequences+++in advance for behavior , not accepted in your house.

ie: random drug test{ urine in sterile vial}
if ++++they fail , move out within 8 hours\\

If i catch you in a lie , rent for next week will increse\by
$10 payable now i week in advance\\
2nd lie $10 more Now $20 per week
