Why is it called a drive thru, if you have to stop?

Drive up, stop, place your order, pay, receive your order, go.

You don't have to, it is just a good idea. Go ahead and do it your way, because I hate waiting in those annoying lines anyway.

Because the person who invented the first drive through last name was Through?

Maybe if they called it a stop the people would think that they have to stay there until the sign changed to green?

You are in the car  waiting outside instead of waiting inside the burger joint!""
