    when a man's father dies do they lose the title of "junior" in their name

    I've kept the "Jr." at the end of my name even though I lost Dad 5 years ago. I don't know, or really care, what is proper...it's out of respect for him that I keep it.

    You will always be Jr and your dad will always be Sr. Death does not remove the title.

    not unless they have a son with the same name. then junior would become senior otherwise junior would always be junior

    No, if Jr has a son, then his son would become the 3rd. John Smith Sr, John Smith Jr, John Smith III.
