    Computer Virus??????????

I need you to dig deep Folks,,i have acquired a virus,i have spoken to Windows and they put a scan on then showed me the virus,China Russia and Italy it has come from in the form of a Trojan Virus,,then they offered to sell me 3 different security software that would get rid of it and protect me for 1 year,,it was there i figured things did not look correct,,even though the website had the windows thumbnail and possibly secure phone number,,and the guy sounded Indian, that throws a red flag up for me...So friends, lend me your knowledge..>>>>>>>><<<<<<.. i am also being attacked by lots of adverts and i run ABP which has always worked in the past.

This is free and awesome for deep scanning

and this one scans in a different style but highly recommended for finding malware and the free version is just as good as the premium version, just with the free version you have to click on update every now and then

    Good luck

Terry I have both Avast and Malwarebytes, one seems to catch what the other one doesn't.

@ JD @ CB..I reckon i might load em both back up again and see how it goes..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<..

My grandfather worked for a computer data service for over 35 years. He suggested to me to use Avast and Malwarebytes in combination to keep viruses at bay and I have not obtained a bad virus in six years.

Is that using the free version of both CB..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<..

I bought the premium version of Avast and Malwarebytes for all my laptops after using the free versions for years. I'm just getting lazy and if it does stuff automatically that i don't have to think about, Cool. Never had an issue with them. ;-)

@ Grit,,i loaded up free version of malwarebytes and it found 4 malware viruse's under hijack heading,,i will run it again in a few more houres and see what it coughs up..BTW Grit,if the free versions were working fine, why buy Premium..????
    Grit Savage

With premium i get VPN , and it does all its anti virus stuff while i sleep. and as its registered to my wife's business, its tax deductible ;-)

Now you got my interest Grit,,I have been thinking about VPN for quite awhile now,can you give me an idea of price and how VPN works, and which one gives you VPN..malware or avast..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<
    Grit Savage

The Avast VPN works just fine, you get the monthly or yearly option, we got a good 5 year deal for being such loyal customers :-) but i also use the TOR browser for accessing the darker side of the web. ;-)

G'day Grit,is the Tor browser a free version, and is it compatable with Google Chrome,,sorry for all the questions mate, but i am far from a computer geek..>>>>>>>><<<<<<..
    Grit Savage

Sorry about the delay. Tor (https://www.torproject.org/download/download-easy.html.en) works as a search engine without Google. if you want to search without being tracked use duckduckgo.com ;-)

Gee, I don't have a clue either, Terry.

I think it's time to drop the computer off at the local computer repair shop but be prepared to pay a pretty penny.

    Good luck.

Give it 2 Aspros & call me in the morning

I haven't a clue but I do get those phone calls pretty often. A foreign accent telling me that there is a problem with Windows and I need to let them look at my computer. I egg them on and then announce I'm on a Mac,  not Windows.....

I use Avast and Malwarebytes on my lap tops , and have had no problems, they seem to work pretty well.

Don't buy anything originating from either China or Russia. Go with the Italian offer.

It may end up being a scam but at least it'll taste good.

    Good advice Digger..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

If you, or anybody else for that matter are interested, you can download the Opera browser (Mac and Windows) and it comes with a free VPN. Here in Germany a lot of YouTube music links are blocked by the German copyright authority GEMA and to get round this I open Opera and click on the VPN button and the problem is solved.
