I'm not really a religious person but this place was special.
The House of the Virgin Mary....................
House of Virgin Mary is located on the top of the "Bulbul" mountain 9 km ahead of Ephesus, the shrine of Virgin Mary enjoys a marvelous atmosphere hidden in the green. It is the place where Mary may have spent her last days. Indeed, she may have come into the area together with Saint John, who spent several years in the area to spread Christianity. Mary preferred this remote place rather than living in a crowded place.

Crater Lake in Oregon. Deepest lake in USA , and clearest. It was said to be the tallest point in North America very long time ago. Then the volcano erupted and it sank into the earth making a gigantic hole. No rivers flow into it . Little rain in summer, but very deep snow in winter keeps it full. Clear because little or no minerals . A very long walk down. Then you get to walk back UP. Long ago , it was stocked with trout. A group left I think from California , with 2500 trout. Several weeks later 8 lived to make the journey . By horseback I presume. If I understand it correctly. Very memorable trip.
