Is it just me? Do some members seem to be asking Strange or off the wall questions? Its like I don't recognise their character anymore?

    Hello there clu;

I can say that I really don't know this to be true.  I have been staying away from the new questions and sticking with the old as I am a bit confused as to what we are actually supposed to answer.  There are so many of the old questions, I am tackling them one subject at a time.  I am now attempting to be efficient at it.

Have a good one, Fishlet.... today's theme is storybook homes...

I like this one as well. :)

To solve the mystery, you can answer any question that you want to answer. If a question is removed, it should not be taken as a personal insult. It is simply because the question did not need to remain on akaQA.
    ROMOS

@Colleen, have you had a look at the backlog?
There are hundreds that need to be gone.

We get to them as we can. Ignore them or answer them. Just know that if you chose to answer them, then you are taking the chance that the question will get removed as one that does not need to remain on akaQA.
    FISH-O

I have new questions that are removed and old questions that are removed. I will now send an email to 'administration' asking for my resignation. If you wanted me to leave then why didn't you just ask Colleen. Have yourself a really great day.

I do not see where I have asked you to leave, I have not asked you to leave. If you leave, it is your choice to do so. All I've done is explain why some questions are removed. You like to answer questions that are just garbled letters and not actual questions. Those have always been removed. None of your own personal questions have been removed.

Hey Don/juan left and DD is back! :)

    love those old cottages, Fish.

Fishlette, Don’t leave. I haven’t seen you around for a long, long time. As soon as I get my G mail straightened out I’m going to ask Colleen for your address.

It's the new rules, they're allowed to ask strange questions but not post strange answers.

I thought this explained Clus' question clearly enough....LOL!

Fiddle sticks! Some seem like a DIFFERENT person?
    ROMOS

Hard to tell sometimes clu, I know where you're coming from.
    FISH-O

What do you mean, a different person clu? I have noticed a lot less questions from the members.

None of the rules state you can not post strange answers. There is one rule however that clearly defines where you can post answers if the answer is not helpful and/or informative to a question that deserves a helpful and valid answer. If you have any doubt as to how to answer a question, then it might be best to just bypass the question and find another to answer. Strange questions that are deemed unintelligible or ones that just can not be answered will be removed once a moderator sees them.

I agree with YOU, clu, there HAVE been some real weird, odd, off-the-wall questions. I agree with Fishlet, too, that the opportunity to "tell it like it is" has been sharply curtailed in favor of being "politically correct".  ROMOS makes another very valid point.
Sometimes a serious question asked in a less-than-stellar manner begs an answer that may not solve the problem or be oozing with courtesy.  The fact is, we are, for all intents and purposes, being scolded for creativity and wit, which is not necessarily a BAD thing.
Colleen's remark, "...deserves a helpful and valid answer..." doesn't sit well with me.  Some of THOSE questions "deserve" a sarcastic, blunt, condescending, and/or (yes) confrontational reply.  Why do we have to dance around the truth...so we don't hurt someone's feelings?  When did THAT become a priority?

You can address your concerns about having to consider people's feelings with the admin. What I said comes from the owner's rules.
    Bob/PKB

The effect of the new rules is obvious. I was one of the top contributors last week. This site is suffering.

People will make their own decision if they want to participate or not. There was a demand by many members for the rules to be posted, the owners took the time to list them and get them posted. Participation is ever changing. It has been changing for 2 years. This is to be expected with any website. People come, people go. Each has their own reasons.

    edit:
Well I see you changed your comment. My comments apply to your original comment.
    Bob/PKB

Yes, the original comment just didn't make anything better.
    mycatsmom

PKB, I got suspended once for 3 days! ..... for " acting like a teacher and acting like an administrator" Well, I happen to have a B.S. in education--regular educ and spec. Educ. And as for " acting like an administrator," I have no idea what they're talking about.
    Bob/PKB

I, too, have a BA (Sociology/Journalism/K-12 Credential). I feel like my strongest contribution is in good presentation, not necessarily sage advice. :D I'm not real sure what "acting like an administrator" means, either. You've always been straight forward and consistent.

You were suspended 2 years ago after many complaints by members then who felt you were bothering them. You were warned many times to stop correcting members and moderating how they could answer a question. You chose not to stop after multiple warnings. It was an admin who suspended you, not even a mod. Again, this was 2 years ago. Let it go.
    ROMOS

@ Colleen, are you serious with this sort of crap? This is history, get over it, for goodness sake.

I was replying to mcm's complaint about being suspended. There was a question about why she was suspended. You can control your attitude or do not bother saying anything.
    itsmee

I really don’t have any idea what you’re talking about. Is it me asking off-the-wall questions? (Everyone will think it’s them)
    itsmee

Where are the new rules that Bob/PKB spoke about?
    Bob/PKB

itsmee: scroll to the bottom of the page, and where you see the black background with white letters, select akaQA Rules, the 4th topic from the left.

I change my character every time I change my hat. You should see me when I wear my sequined baseball cap backward.

    itsmee

I swear ... I just buzz along and don’t pay any attention to whether or not I’m being edited.

Fishlet don't quit,  Clu i have not noticed.  I tend to just answers questions that i like.

    Bob/PKB

tabber, I think Fishlet is really busy with her craft and family. She does check in occasionally, but doesn't spend the time she did a year ago. :(
