Is that anything like taking the gold out of teeth?

I have no gold teeth. Do you know this by experience? Have you had this done? Why DO people have gold teeth? I don't see gold teeth in young people, so is this something that used to be done a long time ago? Is this a European practice? I don't think this is done in North American. My, my what have I caused myself here...such pressure!

In Europe we used to get gold fillings, not done so much now other than cosmetically. Some people actually have diamonds embedded into perfectly healthy teeth, NUTS!

But what was the purpose of a gold filling? I know that Europeans who live here, have gold fillings and now, they are always "older Europeans", 70+. (I'm just so inquisitive this morning, aren't I?)

It is more durable than amalgam fillings and lasts up to 10 times longer but is too expensive now.

Like it? Am I on key?

I extract and process electronic junk for working parts. copper, gold, silver, platinum, niobium, phosphors, nickel, osmium, mercury, lead, tin, bismuth,  plastics and adhesives…..it’s my hobby. I like to collect junk, disassemble a lot of it ( TVs, computers, old phones, yes and that too). Most of the electronics are stripped as components…no de-soldering here, its all cut, clipped or otherwise disassembled. It is shocking how much is re-useable. There is some gold but I don’t usually refine that because it can be used to produce jewelry and add-on ornamentals directly. Raw refined gold is only worth 90-95% of stock market spot. At $1000.00 an ounce you would have to be stupid to sell when, with a little work and ingenuity the value of your trinket goes to $3000.00 per ounce or more. There is no quick money in junk unless you can turn it over the same day for more than you paid for it.

Put the TV in the Microwave and  turn it on high.

Hm...sounds as though there may have been one too many trips in which someone didn't even leave the farm going on them.
