    Had your flu shot yet?

    Flu season is here. It takes two weeks tor the antibodies to work. .  I went to visit a friend in the hospital the other night. There were hand washing stations ALL over the place.  BIG HINTS

    This is some pretty scary, guys. I worked with young children and their little germs are particularly virulent. I will never not get the flu shot. I've never had the flu to my knowledge.

    About ten years ago I had an intestinal flu. Oh, I was so sick. I kind of think it was food poisoning - but it could have been THE FLU. I remember looking in my bathroom mirror. My face was white, my eyes were sunk in and I thought I was going to die. I told my doctor about it afterward and he said, "Oh, we've all had that. It's the flu."

    I wonder. I do.

      No......I never have and never will.I have heard too many people say that the flu shot gave them the flu.I would rather pick up the germ in public than to have it injected into me.

        That's happened to a friend of mine two times. Got the shot, got the flu.

        No....never get one!  I don't seem to get the flu either.  I think hand-washing is far more important than shooting some unknown substance into my body.  These words always ring in my ears...."However, the latest research now shows....."  Pharmaceutical companies and doctors regularly find out that they were wrong!

          Nop don;t believe in it. One of my coworker that I new very well and atletic went and got a flu shot almost cripple him. I couldn't believe my eye when I saw him almost didn't reconize him, for all I know he might be dead now?

            A good friend of mine, in excellent health, landed in ER one night. The visiting doctor's first question was about whether or not she had recently had the flu shot. She had. He advised that she should NEVER get another one. Her legs had given out (she fell down her stairs), her blood pressure had dropped, she was covered with a rash and was kept in the hospital for 10 days. She was puzzled because she had gotten the shot for years. The doctor said, "They keep changing the vaccine because they can only guess at what it should consist of each year. Many people have bad reactions, you just don't hear about it". I'm sure he is frowned upon by the medical community but I LOVE him. I wish we had more honesty in the medical field.

            It like you said Ducky, they keep changing the vacine and you never know what could happen, my guess is it suppose to save more live than distroy or kill! I'm almost sure they try their best just so we get a vacine whether good or not.

            Never get one. I wouldn't trust it and I don't get the flu anyway. I take the alternative stuff that keeps the flu away. I've not had the flu in close to 20 years now.

              No. The last one I had 5 yrs ago made me sick. I have not had a flu shot since and have not had the flu either.

                  I'm not getting one and I didn't get one last year b/c they put the H1N1 strain of flu right in the shot....and I don't want that in my body. I didn't get the flu last year.antibiotics don't help the flu, itsmee, b/c it's a virus. Antibiotics only help a bacterial infection.

                      Wish this question was not asked. Because I had flu injection a week ago for first time, now the answers worry me.
