Some women do socialize at clubs and pubs, and there they undoubtedly drink and talk.  Was that your expected answer?

So what's the problem ? and only 6 times a year, I personally do as I please, I'm currently on extended leave due to illness but have worked my entire life, my children are grown and have their own lives, my husband has his own interests, some of which don't interest me at all, I think I have the absolute right to do as I wish, as does everyone else as long as it's not hurting anyone else

Beats me! I don't do anything every 2 months! Maybe it's just the women you know that do that, whatever IT might be! Could be they are taking a break from you!
