Actually a prime number is one that has only itself and 1 as a factor
    1 x 1
    1 x 2
    1 x 3
    1 x 5
    1 x 7
    1 x 11
    1 x 13
    1 x 17
    1 x 19   for a few examples
    4 is not a prime number because 2 x 2 = 4
    6 is not a prime number because 2 x 3 = 6
    8 is not a prime number because 4 x 2 or 2 x 2 x 2 = 8
    10 is not a prime number because 2 x 5 = 10
AND so it goes.  BTW: A FACTOR is a number that is multiplied by another FACTOR  to get a PRODUCT (so we are talking about multiplication).

A prime number is a number that can be divided evenly only by 1, or itself. Example: 3.
