    can i start a sentence with "To"? e.g 'To an indefatigable father..."

    Don't tell the "Society" so named after this seeming paltry reference...how dare they? I had no idea...he did do some scribe work did he not? Perhaps this is in reference to? Crazy islanders...I'll not slight his memory again. ;)

    Of course, you can; remember "to" is a preposition in this case, so you should use a comma after you finish the "to" phrase. 
    To an indefatigable father, who always puts me first, I wish a happy Fathers' Day.
    (I wish a happy Fathers' Day to and indefatigable father who always puts me first.)
    To an indefatigable father, it's a pleasure to give you this award.  
    (It's a pleasure to give this award to an indefatigable father.   eliminate "you")
