I would refuse to work with a man who bullies his way through life, treats women as objects and has absolutely no respect for women unless they serve his selfish purpose.  A man that prattles on and on and on in an attempt to feed his super ego and  enjoys the sound of his voice at the expense of others' sanity.  A man that does not consider a lie of omission a lie at all.  A man that believes that no matter what the subject or discussion, he is always right and will not let a subject rest until in his mind he has belittled the person who has had the audacity to disagree with him, into submission and maybe a little further.  Or a man that has a very low moral code but insists upon pushing this lowly moral code upon others.

I would never under any circumstances work with a man like this.... ever.  Not for all the money in the world.

Fish believe it or not there are female's in authoritive positions who are capable of that as well.

    Fishy, I cannot agree more!!!!

Men who think that being respectful to women is to check their age and size up their breasts.

How many women do you actually see doing that dowsa? Women are not gross pigs about it like some men are. Truly, I have never heard any of my female friends (yes I have straight friends) mentioning a man's front or behind. Yet here on this forum, we get almost daily run downs from a certain member about the private areas of the women he works with and he sees nothing wrong with this. (puke)

Sizing up a woman is one thing, commenting or touching is another. I'm old not dead, I can still appreciate a handsome woman when I see one.

Well ed, let's put it this way, how would I know a man sized up his female work mates breasts if he did not comment about it...over and over and over again.....?

I can't refuse to work with anyone! However- You can report unethical activity! Such as(for me) people who steal) Everyone has a job to do! Just do it!

    mycatsmom

Clu, that's what I said......that in most jobs, if you'd refuse to work with someone, they'd tell you to take a long walk off a short pier.

Refuse to work with? I guess I would be honest..........

If I were still employed and could actually refuse to work with someone, I would say "no" to consistently lazy/absent and those who leave the difficult aspects of a job (eg. complicated problem with a nasty customer) for the next person to look after.   Grrrrrr...rrr..r

I refuse to work with anyone who has no work ethics...the short and the sweet of it. Peace.

As the leader of bands for 20 years I learned in a hurry about careful scrutiny of those I hired...the last 9 years my band was made up of the same fellows...all family guys and very talented men. Only ever fired 2 people for being too bombed to play! ;)

If it requires getting a job tell them what they want to hear.

I would refuse to work with anyone who asks what kind of  people I would not be willing to work with.

I can not refuse to work with my family but some times i have sent them away to work out of my way

I usually don't focus on other people, but more the job in front of me, and getting it done. I look at it from the perspective of being there and being paid to do a job while I'm there...and whining isn't in my job description. If someone is slacking and purposely putting their work on me...I'm not bashful about asking someone about what's going on. I'm even less bashful when someone has managed to get me mad.

I would hope to not be put in a situation where I felt I could not work past anyone's crap.  I would prefer not to work with people who are dishonest.  Dishonest in the workplace means a number of things:  abuse of breaks, lunch periods, sick leave; pawning off work (s)he should be able to complete successfully but "doesn't have time"; thief (even taking paper clips or pencils isn't OK without asking); bossy when on the same "level"; passes the buck and the blame but gets in on the glory (especially if undeserved); someone who thinks (s)he is smarter than I am (worse if (s)he isn't); someone who doesn't listen to rational argument, constructive criticism, or simply logic; someone who uses a minority status to advance in the workplace rather than accomplishment and ability; someone who puts more value in perky breasts and a pretty face than a quality brain, good intentions, and well-finished product.
    That will do for starters.

I would be blunt and and let them know that I would not want to work with that person.  Life's too short.

I can work with anybody !! I never step out of line My "wife and her "Buddy Colleen make sure of that.

    too funny!

I have never refused to work with anyone, nor doubt I ever will, there are those that I don't care for, but that's my personal bias which never interferes with my work ethic, that would also be my answer if I were asked, I have however found it necessary to pull staff aside and have a quiet word, and when that hasn't worked have taken the matter further as per our departmental protocol

I work with them all!:-¬...I`d have NO job if I didn`t..:-¬...Opens yer eyes to life I suppose...(I work with them but I don`t tolerate bullies/unfair behavior !...I`m pretty laid back really..but people know where to tow the line with me!..:-¬...I TRY TO BE FAIR ALWAYS!!:-0

@umbriel...some as I say died!..Others lived to tell the tale but I don`t know their sentencing!..When the first one came running through the doors screaming..still on fire:-(..we didn`t know the circumstances ..we believed it to be a house fire..then the story emerged quickly when the police and ambulances showed up...One of the busiest and most torturous nights of our lives..heart breaking that their lovely sounding parents were phoning in desperation of their child`s well-being!!(and they were clueless re what their kids had really been up to)..FOR THEIR SAKES i KIND OF HOPE THEY WERE NEVER TOLD..but In my heart I know that`s unrealistic!...all i can say is that we did our bests!!!:-(

In most jobs, if you say you refuse to work with someone, they fire you.

I now have a headache...and can not respond to this at this time.  I will send you a memo later in the day :)

Much of my working career was in a supervisory capacity. As long as an employee was able to perform well in the position they were hired for, I would overlook their shortcomings. If they were abusive towards other co-workers, or displayed any sexual harassment I would terminate them. I have also terminated employees that I was quite fond of when their performance declined and was not up to the companies standards for which I was directly responsible for. I didn't always care for my employer either, but I had to pay my mortgage, and my sons college. I did my job to the best of my ability without having to develop a taste for a$$.

Work in general, s**ks. Some jobs were more tolerable than others. I've only had one thing in my life which I truly enjoyed doing, and I'm doing that now as a hobby and making a few bucks at it.

A butt kisser, I despise working with a brown nose butt kisser.  someone that is always putting the red carpet out for management, always acting like an angel when the boss is around but when they are gone they are cut throats.

I like working with a lazy person though because anytime you are trying to figure out an easy way to get the job done, you can ask a lazy person and they will always know how to do it with little or no effort.

wHAT`S THE POINT OF GOING TO WORK...IF YOU ARE not GOING TO GIVE IT YOUR all??...SO many people thesedays can only dream re working..it sucks that the lazy ones get away with depleting hard workers of a wage..and harden the load for those they are working with!!..You shouldn`t have to tell someone that they need to put in effort!!:-Z
    Vinny

Why would a lazy do nothing work when they can claim so many entitlements. JOBS?? Who needs a job when the state/g'ment pays you to not work.. what the entitlement programs won't supply, they can protest to get more or just rob and steal from you.. Jobs?? HA!! I work, you work for what?? To support those that refuse to work??

I see no reason to work with mean people and/or bullies. They are so easy to pick out.  If the employers won't do away with them, I'd just leave.  Life is too short to be around this kind of negativity.

    millie111

@Itsmee..try telling the NHS that??...We have a moral duty to treat everyone as individuals...we had a bunch of Irish TERRORISTS IN one night in a/e...they`d been trying to assemble a bomb..and had blown themselves up:-¬...Terrible burns..some lived some died..but we did our best to treat them..it was one hell of a night but one which will always stay with me!...:-(Ie sometimes you just have to work with people you don`t favour their motives!!..TOUGH WORLD!!:-0
