I would refuse to work with a man who bullies his way through life, treats women as objects and has absolutely no respect for women unless they serve his selfish purpose. A man that prattles on and on and on in an attempt to feed his super ego and enjoys the sound of his voice at the expense of others' sanity. A man that does not consider a lie of omission a lie at all. A man that believes that no matter what the subject or discussion, he is always right and will not let a subject rest until in his mind he has belittled the person who has had the audacity to disagree with him, into submission and maybe a little further. Or a man that has a very low moral code but insists upon pushing this lowly moral code upon others.
I would never under any circumstances work with a man like this.... ever. Not for all the money in the world.

Men who think that being respectful to women is to check their age and size up their breasts.

I can't refuse to work with anyone! However- You can report unethical activity! Such as(for me) people who steal) Everyone has a job to do! Just do it!

I usually don't focus on other people, but more the job in front of me, and getting it done. I look at it from the perspective of being there and being paid to do a job while I'm there...and whining isn't in my job description. If someone is slacking and purposely putting their work on me...I'm not bashful about asking someone about what's going on. I'm even less bashful when someone has managed to get me mad.

I would hope to not be put in a situation where I felt I could not work past anyone's crap. I would prefer not to work with people who are dishonest. Dishonest in the workplace means a number of things: abuse of breaks, lunch periods, sick leave; pawning off work (s)he should be able to complete successfully but "doesn't have time"; thief (even taking paper clips or pencils isn't OK without asking); bossy when on the same "level"; passes the buck and the blame but gets in on the glory (especially if undeserved); someone who thinks (s)he is smarter than I am (worse if (s)he isn't); someone who doesn't listen to rational argument, constructive criticism, or simply logic; someone who uses a minority status to advance in the workplace rather than accomplishment and ability; someone who puts more value in perky breasts and a pretty face than a quality brain, good intentions, and well-finished product.
That will do for starters.

I have never refused to work with anyone, nor doubt I ever will, there are those that I don't care for, but that's my personal bias which never interferes with my work ethic, that would also be my answer if I were asked, I have however found it necessary to pull staff aside and have a quiet word, and when that hasn't worked have taken the matter further as per our departmental protocol

Much of my working career was in a supervisory capacity. As long as an employee was able to perform well in the position they were hired for, I would overlook their shortcomings. If they were abusive towards other co-workers, or displayed any sexual harassment I would terminate them. I have also terminated employees that I was quite fond of when their performance declined and was not up to the companies standards for which I was directly responsible for. I didn't always care for my employer either, but I had to pay my mortgage, and my sons college. I did my job to the best of my ability without having to develop a taste for a$$.

A butt kisser, I despise working with a brown nose butt kisser. someone that is always putting the red carpet out for management, always acting like an angel when the boss is around but when they are gone they are cut throats.
I like working with a lazy person though because anytime you are trying to figure out an easy way to get the job done, you can ask a lazy person and they will always know how to do it with little or no effort.

I see no reason to work with mean people and/or bullies. They are so easy to pick out. If the employers won't do away with them, I'd just leave. Life is too short to be around this kind of negativity.
