I only ever turn various shades of pink so sun tanning is a ridiculous concept for me.  I stay out of the sun as much as possible and when I am in the garden I wear protective sunscreen and hats.  No sense in tempting bad luck health wise.

Made me think, I had never thought of sun damage whilst driving, very dramatic results for the poor man. Amazing how here we know to wear protective clothing and sunscreen but, for me at least I will drive for hours without giving sunburn a thought, I may now though

Aussies are well aware of dangers from excessive sun. School kids have to wear hats when outdoors; if they arrive at school without hats they are sent home.

I remember the bad old days at the beach, coconut oil in hand and happy to go home looking like a lobster, it took us a long time to realize the damage we were doing

I used to make fun of my own "driver's tan", loved being a passenger to even it out. Used to bake on purpose but never just laid out in the sun, too boring.  I tan however and am a little sunburned now, an accident. I'll watch it from now on. Thank a lot @eggie for bring yet another fear into my life.....................lol

Ahh..being of Irish- Scot descent I know well what the sun can do!!!

    darn those skirts..I mean kilts-LOL!

I`m guilty in my teens, twenties and 30`s of sun worshipping..and sun beds at the gym (SINCE REMOVED)!!.....When you`re young you think that you`ll worry about it later in many years to come...Another case of youth is wasted on the young perhaps!!...If only me and my friends had been more sensible...I have no idea now what state my skin`s really in??..very scary!!...now I`M OLDER AND WISER..I LIKE TO THINK!...But I do my best now to cover up and not sunbathe..ONLY TIME WILL TELL!!:-¬...plus in the UK people usually all go mad to catch the rays WHEN we get a hot day...(Which is rare)!!:-¬
