    purple baby snake

    our family were down near margaret river, and the kids were playing in the bush.  We found a baby snake, which was purple.  It was not much thicker than a toothpick, and about 20cm long. it was a definate lilac/purple colour.  Can anyone help me with what kind of snake it was, and if it is a nasty one?  PS. We put it back ALIVE.
