I have had sprained ankles twice. There isn't much you can do other than stay off it as much as possible. It helps if you keep it raised. You may want to take a pain killer of sorts for the first few days as my doctor told me that a sprain hurts more than a break.
The first time I sprained my ankle it took six weeks to heal.
The second time I sprained my ankle it took nine weeks to heal.
Good Luck and take it easy.
