And I quote..." the defendants include a surgeon, a local hospital contractor, and brokers who looked for donors online and leased an operating room to conduct the procedure." Can you imagine this...well we don't need to now but holy mudder in heaven (easterners in Canada use this phrase alot) what has this world come to?... she exclaimed with discontent and dismay in her tone! Kidneys exchanged for the cost of an electrical device which in a few years will cost a pittance of what it does today...Chiangma ! What is wrong with this picture?  Body parts "brokers"?The surgeon? The hospital contractor? All of these are to blame for this morbid atrocity. I can see it all now...in 2 years or less the kid with the toy and one less kidney contracts some infection of the remaining kidney and....see where that one's going? Oh what a world, what a world!! I'm melting...melting.. Chiangma!!! ;D

Well said. It's beyond sad and very scary. I hope my son's not into I-phones.

Chiangmai, maybe you should buy your son a I-phone, just in case.

What a SICK world!!;-¬ I hope his O kidney lasts longer than the iphone/ipad whatever!;-Z

And guess which country is the recipient of these very expensive organs on the black market?

Good point....a case of exploitation of poorer nations. Thank you, bulletman.

All the people who were involved. They are already under arrest and I hope the receive a long prison sentence,

I dont think the young man has any idea what that means for him later in life.

This schould bring the spotlight on all these organ trafficking organizations that exist. From the former Soviet Union to Brazil, to the Phillipines, kosovov, Bangladesh and many more countries. It is rampant, because of poverty, illiteracy and ignorance.

This poor young man thought this was so much money, that he could not resist. They paid him a pittance.

Usually in the organ traffic trade, they will offer 10.000 dollars for a kidney, and sell them to wealthy recipients for 150.000 Dollars.

China takes the Organs of executed prisoners and uses them for people who need organ transplants . There must be many executions, because China has an average of 10.000 Kidney transplants a year.

The buyers but, I don't quite buy this story............

I agree. Sounds like a stretch.

Then again, who knows how a 17 year old person thinks.

Should have gone with the Blackberry and Playbook duo for a mere couple of pints of blood. Better product too.

    Too funny!

Sounds to me like they got most of the people who needed to be arrested.
I'm sure the "boy" was underpaid for his sacrifice.

Blame?  The blame goes to all involved.  Peripherally, the companies and stores who make the items so attractive and so expensive.

Where are the parents?  What is the age of majority?

In this age of stupid litigation, how about the manufacturers?

Always blame the parents... Yep! Good one! It has nothing to do with peer pressure or marketing.... nnnnooooooooo!

No, I think he's blaming the parents for not spoiling the kid and buying him everything that he wants. I bet jaydog has parents who will not cater to every one of his demands for toys either.Kids always think they are owed something.

I just removed your question. DO NOT swear on our forum. I will boot you from here for good if you do that again.

He should be blamed for his own actions.
