Termites attacked his wooden leg, causing him to fall overboard when it gave out on him. When we came back around, all we found was a broken, half termite-eaten stub of a wooden leg floating on the surface. Aye...he was a good man, but a rotten swimmer!

I heard he could only swim in circles which proves to be highly exhausting.
