Your daughter doesn't have to wear thong underwear.

The way a thong is constructed makes it a perfect set-up for infection. That thin band of material that fits so snuggly against delicate areas is like a sponge for bacteria. The concern with women wearing thongs is that fecal bacteria from the anal area can make its way to the vagina and urethra creating ideal conditions for a urinary tract or vaginal infection. All it takes is for the thong to slide a little when you walk to send fecal bacteria where it’s not supposed to be. Most panties don’t cause this type of problem because they’re looser and allow better air flow. This problem may be lessened, but not eliminated, by choosing cotton thongs rather than ones made of synthetic materials.

I'd say she wait until she's old enough to move out on her own. Then she can make her own decisions and not give mom any grief..............

Thong underware can cause UTI's. I'm sure your daughter would not like to have one of those. OMG! No!

I have never worn them! They look very uncomfortable! Seems your rear wold get cold in the winter! After reading your next question, I don't think you are old enough to have a daughter! If I'm wrong-sorry!

it would depend on how mature she was. I would said certainly not a child younger than 16 years even then I would not be happy

i WOULDN`T REACT....she`s soon get fed up with a piece of string up her backside!!!..Fishlet is right..tight equals more prone to UTI`S!!!:-(....Some girls/women love them..maybe she`s one....but I really wouldn`t worry...maybe she`s trying to shock you and be in with the in crowd....She`ll learn no doubt!!!....What does horrify me is shops selling padded bras for kids as young as 5!!!....To me that`s asking for trouble!!:-0

I don't like the thought of thong underwear, but each to his own, I certainly wouldn't allow it until she's at least doing her own washing!!

Why does she want to wear thong underwear?  Do you buy her low-cut pants so half her tummy shows when she wear a spaghetti-strapped tank or a tube top?  She can squat or sit or bend at the waist and the thong will show.  
It's kind of like a tramp stamp.  You want your daughter to have a tramp stamp?
Tell her when she's willing to buy ALL of her own clothes, she can buy herself a thong. AND you have final say on the clothes.
