          Change leads to experience.  Both can be painful.  However, it's how wisdom is acquired.

            Change is good.  Experience is good.  I can't say one is better than the other.  Many times, though, had I changed my mind, my behavior, my choices, I would have avoided experiences that have caused much heartache. OH WELL.  Experience is a good teacher, if you are taking notes!!!!
