    4. I was offered a Ithaca 1911A1, stamped with US ARMY. The serial number on it is 2147017. I searched the web for about 30 minutes and found no range of numbers that it what fall under. Can you tell me if it is a true number and its value?

      Ithaca made about 340,000 pistols. Many went to USAAF aircrews. I'd put it at least $1300 today. Maybe as high as $2000 if all is correct.
