      D = Jim's father            


      G = Jim's grandfather  


      __________________________________________________________


      J + (J + 70) + (J + 31) = 137


      J + J + 70 + J + 31 = 137


      3J + 101 = 137


      3J + 101 - 101 = 137 - 101


      3J = 36


      3J/3  =  36/3


      J  =  12


      D  =  12 + 31 = 43


      G  =  12 + 70 = 82


      ____________________________________________________


      J  =  12


      D  =  43


      G  =  82


      Check:   12 + 43 + 82 = 137

          Jim + 31 = Dad
          Jim

          3Jims +  101 = 137
          3 Jims = 36 (137 - 101)
          1 Jim = 36/3      
          Jim is 12
          Dad is 12 + 31 or 43
          Grandpa is 12 + 70 or 82
          12 + 43 + 82 = 137
