Their parents are uneducated and poor, you can't compare them with your ideals. There is no, yes or no. Their parents and their ancestors would have been living with a particular mindset of which you would not understand.
You cannot change them, they will always be like this. It's the same in Afghanistan, you are trying to bring democracy to a people who have lived the way they have for thousands of years.
They do not think like you or I in Western countries.

I can think of nothing more horrific than watching a child of mine starve to death. Are you aware of drought and famine??? Luckily, and very fortunately, I do not have first hand experience with a prolonged drought or famine. Luckily, and fortunately, I live in a country where food is shipped...so, if one area experiences a drought food can come from another area....and to answer your question about when these folks move in next door- my state protects children. They can get free medical care and food. And my pantry is always open for someone in need (even though I have little $ to spare, I refuse to watch a child starve- or their parent). This is the Grand melting pot. You need to eat in order to work. People helped my family when they were new here...I have no problem passing it on. I DO NOT believe people move to this country just to get on public assistance!!!! & I don't believe these folks have much power!!!

What power did these people, or for that matter have these people got ?, you are referring to poorly educated, poverty stricken nations, not world leaders or powerful businessmen, they do not the privilege of a greater knowledge nor the means to escape their circumstance
