There really isn't a specific definition for hospital statistics...because hospitals gather information on A LOT of different things and then crunch statistics for them. Here are a few: Hospital borne infection rate, Post surgical infection rate, infection rate by OR # , doctor, and floor. Infection rate among staff. # of flu patients (Pts) in a season, their ages, how many died, got pneumonia, went to the ICU. # of Pts per day in the Er. The daily acuity rate in ER, on all floors.......It goes on and on and on by department, floor, patients.....
