Wow, what a serious problem that is!  I would probably have a nervous breakdown, talk about that horrible sight to everyone who would listen, need two years of psychotherapy, start drinking and drugging, run away from home, tear my hair out, run naked through the streets of downtown New York, fight with every one at work but hopefully, get over it within a decade...or maybe two!!

I wouldn't let it bother me, i have seen worse than that in public.

I'd smile at the person next to me and then tell my housemate all about it so we can trade "bus horror stories"............

I would look the other way and never think about it again. 

I'd poke the guy next to me and say--  "hey look, she's smiling at you!'

Then the rest of the day I would tell everyone i saw what I did on the bus to a total stranger..  But that's me, your mileage may vary..
