You may just have to tolerate it, because it is self - love, and you can do nothing about psychopathic people who love themselves. If he does anything to you, get out of the house and into a shelter, or to a nearest relative. Do not feed his vanity. He has enough of that already. Some people try to pander to the self-love people by being "Yes" men, that does not work, it merely increases their arrogance and they then become brutal. It is also a symptom that is not often recognised by the person who suffers from it.
