We are old people here at least some of us . Games are not our thing . How ever we are resourceful so I did a Goggle search : Minecraft problems solutions forums. Very informative it appears plug ins are the problem . Old plug ins will not work with new minecraft . Lots of details and suggested solutions to complicated to retype . http://dlbukkit.org/downloads/craftbukkit/ also forumsbukkit .org These were the address given .
