        jh, My mom used to say names, when I told her my bro was calling me names. 'course, she always let him get away with anything. So did my dad.

                    Obviously that little poem came from better times before 'Political Correctness', today names hurt people and they will sue you..   As far as the 'sticks and stones' that too has given way to AK-47's and IED's..

                                        It will take some people a lifetime to find themselves after sustained verbal abuse.  The affect it has on a brain can ruin a life.

                                          Caddam said it all.  I've seen so many kids suffering for years due to words said to them.  Words I beleive might hurt more than sticks and stones.  Sticks and stones just make you want to hurt somebody.  Words hurt the spirit.
