Why are the Boy Scout Handbooks made so cheaply? Both types fall apart soon after the scouts start using them. I tried to send a note to national but their web site is too confusing. Jim Salamon

Also, there is no place in the handbook or any other publication that the scouts have access to that explains how to wear the merit badge sash (you know right shoulder to left hip).  That is very poor form.  You realize that the badges can be sewn on the wrong way (left shoulder to right hip).  How do you fix that?

I get no joy in saying this ,but you are scouts and resilience is a quality taught ,that and self reliance . Item 1.) the book looks like you may need to rebuild it ,that means choosing the right glue making a clamping jig and make it stronger . Teachable moment. Some detective work will solve the sash issue look for old photos at gatherings see what the majority are doing and decide . Sewn on wrong, time for a seam ripper and some removal .If at first you don't succeed try try again . Teachable moment . Shame they dont do better for the kids
