Remember:

Separate the first number from the rest of the numbers with a decimal point.

**12,000,000,000**

1.200 000 000 0

Count the number of numbers after the decimal point. > **(10)** This will be the exponent.

So, 1.2 (you will drop the zeros) is the coefficient. The base number is 10 written in exponent form.

**Answer: 1.2 * 10^10**
