      an ss monte did not come with the 3.8  eng that you are referring about. it should be a v8 or 5.o liter engine.a regular monte,  the oil pump in the 3.8 is in the oil pan but if you heve the 3.8 buick eng. then it is behind the timing cover on the crank shaft.
