Frank Sinatra once said "There is absolutely no excuse for wearing tan shoes after 5pm".

So wear the black ones.

If you are an Aussie you can bet you have a pair of blue & white "Dunlop Volleys" somewhere.

Flip flops (We call them thongs,not to be confused with a certain style of under garment) for the beach.

Carpet slippers after your bath & you've got your PJs on.

Clogs if you're Dutch.

Elastic sided riding boots if you are a horsey person.

Some horses wear shoes. Chicago had a baseball player named "Shoeless" Joe Jackson.  I never leave home without toes on my feet. (Ok this answer should be in the "free association" category- guess it's time to sleep.  Night kids)

Depends what wear you are referring to, foot wear or wearing on feet.

 You can "wear" shoes or you can "wear" the soles of your feet down.

English is a very difficult language to comprehend some times. For instance why can I say comprehend or understand when basicaly they are the same meaning.
