    I have the book of Abstract of Title given to James John by the US government is 1866. It has all the deeds from 1864 up to1936. I would like to find out what it is worth and who should I contact.

    My deceased fathers name was John Robert LOPP, hailing from Kansas. Who knows?

    An abstract of title is the condensed history of title to a particular parcel of real estate, consisting of a summary of the original grant and all subsequent conveyances and encumbrances affecting the property and a certification by the abstractor that the history is complete and accurate.


    You can always try E-Bay.   Or, contact your local library to check for an historian that may be able to estimate a value for you.  I would also try the Library of Congress which can be reached at:
