    Bob/PKB

Condolences, Ann. I know that is difficult choice to make.
    FISH-O

Sad news still to this day. We lost a dog family member on December third. Jake was a special dog... as lovely as Chester.
It is wonderful having memories of the dogs we love so much.

    Doolittle knows this sadness..be well!
    Ann

Thank you all for understanding. To Colleen, Ducka, Bob, Fish Fry , Mel and doolittle. You all know what it is like, having to let go of an animal you loved so much. His precence is still everywhere and just having a hard time accepting that Chester is truly gone.

    Sorry Ann to learn that.

    The life lessons... Man!  Brutal!

    Ann

But look where you are now! You are so lucky!
    FISH-O

That is what it's all about. :)

""The worst thing? There were no boogas left in my nose and I scraped the hell out of it.

    Bob/PKB

That is rough. You should make sure your fingernails are filed down alot when you go on a dig.

LOL!!!!! (gross but I laughed anyway)
    sawali

DONT worry, you will get more opportunities to dig and by that time your finger nails will be sharp to resume mining!

My wife and I were on a mini mini vacation in a small town in Germany. It was 38 years since my last visit and I wanted to see what had changed. After breakfast we leisurely strolled the kilometer into the town center. On our wandering we came across a mens shop and after making a few purchases we came out of the shop to find it was raining. No problem, we both had our umbrellas with us. Next stop was an old cafe and after a pot of coffee we decided it was time to move on. Before stepping out onto the side-walk I started to open my umbrella when someone wanted to enter the cafe, and in moving out of the way I failed to see the step and went flying into the road. I knew instantly I had fractured my foot, the same foot I had fractured in July and which was not completely heeled and keeping me from working. Alas I fear that that was the straw that broke the camel's back. I was advised yesterday to have an operation and have it screwed to speed up the heeling time. Time will tell.

hope you get better soon west..... whats all these numbers you and fish girl are posting to each other!!!! ok I am a nosey parker but at least I admit it!!!!! oxoxoxox

    michmar118

So sorry!! Broken bones are a bear to have to deal with. Screws will help a lot in getting use back more quickly. Best of luck.

David Jean (my 97 lb. dog) pulled me down in a mud slick and I landed on my hip. It still bothers me and wakes me at night..........

    Sad. :(
    Bob/PKB

With drugs, it's just lose, lose, lose, until there is nothing left. Senseless and heartbreaking.
    Ann

So sorry daren1 and so sad!

My dad passed away... But he is at peace so it is not all bad.

    valR

sorry to hear this; hopefully he is in peace more than us by all means...
    Bob/PKB

...and you have wonderful memories of him, to cherish and share with the rest of the family who miss him so much. Mom and I still talk about my dad fondly. He passed away in 2001. Bless you, Jenn, I remember it was a really stressful time for you.
    Jenn

Thanks guys... warm thoughts are always welcome.
    leosmaml

My deepest sympathy Jenn,i had been wondering how he was but didnt like to ask.Sincere condolences x

Two of my really good friends passed away, suppose as we get older it happens more often but it still hurts nonetheless.

    Bob/PKB

It doesn't make it any easier, and it surely does hurt your heart when a friend is gone.
    Ann

I know how you feel. Lost a few friends too. The world gets smaller, as we get older, but the memories never die.
    ROMOS

    So true,memories are always there.

getting out of bed each day to face the world.

    valR

    Oh no!
    why so?
    bulletman

I don't get enough sleep i like Aka too much.lol.
    Bob/PKB

....so if that is the WORST thing, you had a pretty good year! Right on.

Because I was two seconds late on turnig right after the light turned green, the huge truck on my left pushed my car against the curb and unto the walk side...100 miles away from home on a Friday afternoon...

    Bob/PKB

I'm hoping you weren't hurt, the trucker's insurance covered the damages, and somehow you got home before 24 hours passed.... You know, I'm sorry I asked this question. Who wants to dwell on the bad stuff!
    doolittle

That sucks the waazoo! You ok???

Not  seeing my son and daughter....................

    Bob/PKB

May this year be filled with visits and memory making opportunities.

2011 was without a doubt the worst year I've had in thirty years. Father dying was the worst. Another year like this and I'll be buying some rope and looking for a sturdy branch.

    valR

    please forget the rope
    how old are you?
    Bob/PKB

ed shank is not old enough to be talking like that.
Losing a loved one is never going to be anything but an unhappy time for those left behind. We can honor their memory while we're still around. I know that may sound like a crock, but it's worth considering....maybe it will even benefit us personally!
    doolittle

ed you stick with us..k? '11 was my most difficult year too...but no rope..k?
    ed shank

No rope I promise. But this year did suck. To vaLR I'm sixty, or is it sixteen? I forget.

Well 2011 is a year that I will try very hard to forget...however, it made me stronger, taught me first hand about the evil in this world, and I've now been through so much tough stuff in my life anything will be better!  I can enjoy doing simple things like being on this site and laughing with you guys, feeling your pain, sensing aggrivation...and caring! Because of my health/chronic pain my life is 'small' and 'simple' now...sure i'd like to do more..but I get to try a new medication and still have (some) hope that I'll get better!

    Bob/PKB

We'll keep you laughing, doolittle, as that is the best medicine. I truly hope the new meds provide the relief you need without compromising any other part of your life and health. You are such a sunny spot in MY akaQA experience. Thank you for being you.
    doolittle

Thanks Bob!! I'll keep everyone aware of what's going on!
    valR

Dear doo, please doo laugh a lot. There is solid proof that is one of the best medicines and it's free.
    Best luck doo you!
    doolittle

val thank you and Doo do love to laugh!
    Chiangmai

If you need a good laugh, doolittle, just come to Hawaii and come check out my less than desirable looking and flat-chested neighbor and her bearded/bald-headed Wisconsinite hubby. It'll most definitely make your pain go away!
    doolittle

LOL...I may well take you up on that Chiangmai!!!
    Chiangmai

You're on and the cold beer is on me, Doolittle. Warning: staring at his extremely yellow set of teeth may be hazardous to your eyes.
    doolittle

LOL!!!!!!!!! I'll try not to look at those teeth!

Mine was mostly perfect.  Perhaps a minor annoyance was my neighbor reporting us to the Building Department.  They found zero violations, however, we now have a fence between the properties.  Now we don't have to look at this bald-headed, ugly-bearded Wisconsinite and his even uglier flat-chested wife.  Thanks, Bob/PKB for allowing me this opportunity to get it off my chest.

    Bob/PKB

    My pleasure, Chiangmai.
    doolittle

Chiangmai...glad your view has improved. lol

Having to witness so very many people and creatures around the world succumb to or try to survive the incredibly powerful and record number of natural disasters that came one after another, after another........................ Financial difficulties at their greatest for our family........and gaining twenty pounds, all around the middle!!  As a good friend told me  "welcome to middle age!"   Is that why they call it "middle age??"  Time to jolt my treadmill out of hibernation!

    Bob/PKB

You are onto something with the middle age thing. I've been on hiatus from the gym... my birthday is in March and it would be a real present to myself to feel and look good. Better get started on that.
    michmar118

T U, Bob! Good luck and how about we send each other motivational thoughts?! I know I could use the boost. Happy gymming!!

I guess I'm really lucky, I seem to have survived 2011 relatively unscathed, apart from a few months in hospital that turned out o.k anyway

    Bob/PKB

Your upbeat nature just flows of the screen, lambshank. I'm so glad you are here.
    lambshank

    thank you Bob/PKB
