It is wonderful having memories of the dogs we love so much.

December 31 11:00 am
My wife and I were on a mini mini vacation in a small town in Germany. It was 38 years since my last visit and I wanted to see what had changed. After breakfast we leisurely strolled the kilometer into the town center. On our wandering we came across a mens shop and after making a few purchases we came out of the shop to find it was raining. No problem, we both had our umbrellas with us. Next stop was an old cafe and after a pot of coffee we decided it was time to move on. Before stepping out onto the side-walk I started to open my umbrella when someone wanted to enter the cafe, and in moving out of the way I failed to see the step and went flying into the road. I knew instantly I had fractured my foot, the same foot I had fractured in July and which was not completely heeled and keeping me from working. Alas I fear that that was the straw that broke the camel's back. I was advised yesterday to have an operation and have it screwed to speed up the heeling time. Time will tell.

Let's get that surgery done and get you on the mend ASAP.
My dad passed away... But he is at peace so it is not all bad.

Two of my really good friends passed away, suppose as we get older it happens more often but it still hurts nonetheless.

Because I was two seconds late on turnig right after the light turned green, the huge truck on my left pushed my car against the curb and unto the walk side...100 miles away from home on a Friday afternoon...

2011 was without a doubt the worst year I've had in thirty years. Father dying was the worst. Another year like this and I'll be buying some rope and looking for a sturdy branch.

Losing a loved one is never going to be anything but an unhappy time for those left behind. We can honor their memory while we're still around. I know that may sound like a crock, but it's worth considering....maybe it will even benefit us personally!
Well 2011 is a year that I will try very hard to forget...however, it made me stronger, taught me first hand about the evil in this world, and I've now been through so much tough stuff in my life anything will be better! I can enjoy doing simple things like being on this site and laughing with you guys, feeling your pain, sensing aggrivation...and caring! Because of my health/chronic pain my life is 'small' and 'simple' now...sure i'd like to do more..but I get to try a new medication and still have (some) hope that I'll get better!

Best luck doo you!
Mine was mostly perfect. Perhaps a minor annoyance was my neighbor reporting us to the Building Department. They found zero violations, however, we now have a fence between the properties. Now we don't have to look at this bald-headed, ugly-bearded Wisconsinite and his even uglier flat-chested wife. Thanks, Bob/PKB for allowing me this opportunity to get it off my chest.

Having to witness so very many people and creatures around the world succumb to or try to survive the incredibly powerful and record number of natural disasters that came one after another, after another........................ Financial difficulties at their greatest for our family........and gaining twenty pounds, all around the middle!! As a good friend told me "welcome to middle age!" Is that why they call it "middle age??" Time to jolt my treadmill out of hibernation!
