 Does your girl friend allow you to look at her cell, read any or all txts, listen to voice mail left, check her call history and look at all of her contacts? Be honest. Most people don't.  They want to preserve privacy, not necessarily theirs but txt convos and other peoples information.  Are you worried that she is wounded? Or are you worried that she has gone out with friends alone- or is dating someone else?  Your question sounds like she's gone out and left her phone behind.  Or perhaps she went out and returned without telling you where she went.  It happens to be christmas time could it be that she was buying you a gift & thinks telling you where she was would ruin your surprise?  Preserve her dignity and your honor and do not search through her phone.  This will also preserve the trust she has for you.  If she does it again then a non-accusitory question is probably the correct thing to do.  If she won't answer the question "where were you yesterday?" or "i got worried when you were gone for such a long time and had left your phone behind- where did you go &  are you ok." then you might follow it up with this"you are being secretive and I have trouble with that.  I don't need to know everything that goes on but if everything is ok with you and us I feel (paranoid, scared, weird, not trusted...) that you don't feel you can tell me.  {the I "feel" statements are crucial because you are not giving her the responsibility for your feelings &  you are not putting her on the defensive}   Good Luck.  I hope she returns soon.
